FIRST VISIT DENTAL EXAM
Along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Brian Wah recommends that your child has their first dental appointment by either the age of 1, or when they receive their first tooth. By getting your child to a dentist this early, we can monitor your child’s oral growth and development and ensure that we help your child avoid any future problems. Plus, our friendly and gentle team can help your child feel at ease and develop a trust for their dentist. To schedule your child’s first dental visit in Franklin, Tennessee, we invite you to schedule their appointment at Nashville Pediatric Dentistry by calling us at 615-905-8920.
Protecting your child’s teeth is important for life-long oral health. According to the American Dental Association, your child should have their first visit to the dentist no later than 6 months after their first tooth comes in and no later than your child’s first birthday. By visiting the dentist early on, you can help us protect your child’s smile as they receive their primary and permanent teeth.
When you bring your child into our office early on, we can help you know how to best clean your child’s teeth during the teething process and while your child waits to receive their permanent teeth.
We also discuss diet as an influence on oral health, as well as when fluoride toothpaste is appropriate. Our caring pediatric dentist and team can also help answer any other questions you many have about taking care of your child’s teeth. When you bring your child into our office, our dentist can also monitor your child’s growth for signs of any future irregularities. This can allow your child to receive early treatment, thus preventing future problems all together. If you have questions or concerns about your child’s first dental visit, we invite you to please call or visit our office. We are happy to help in any way.
